This program brings together charities, data, and technology to solve environmental challenges. It aligns with the fifth pillar of the RBC Climate Blueprint and builds on the legacy of the RBC Blue Water Project.
Weston Family Foundation
The Weston Family’s charitable giving programs were first established in the 1950s by Willard Garfield Weston and Reta Weston. Today, the Weston Family Foundation and its Board support Swim Drink Fish through the Foundation’s commitment to Land Conservation. The Foundation is committed to stewardship of the Great Lakes and providing opportunities for Canadians to connect with the wonderful nature surrounding them.
Waterkeeper Alliance
The Waterkeeper movement began in 1966 on the Hudson River in New York, when a band of local fishermen began fighting back against industrial polluters. The movement grew as the original Riverkeepers, Baykeepers, and Soundkeepers patrolled waterbodies by boat, enforcing environmental laws and responding to pollution concerns from the public.
