Victoria Hub Monitoring Sites
The Victoria Hub is monitoring one site for its launch in August 2023. In addition to weekly monitoring activities, Swim Drink Fish conducts an Environmental Health and Safety Survey (EHSS) that provides foundational knowledge of the site. Prospect Lake
Prospect Lake is an environmental and recreational treasure for those who call it home, and the larger Saanich community. It covers approximately 89 ha (220 acres), has an island, and a series of natural bays. It has long been a popular swimming, fishing, and boating destination.
How do we know where to sample?
~ The site is a place where people recreate in the water (swimming, fishing, boating etc.)
~ The site is not currently monitored or is under monitored
~ The site may be vulnerable to pollution that could degrade the water quality and negatively impact it’s function as a habitat
