Recreational Water Quality Sampling Workshop

Learn how to monitor your local waters!

Are you interested in learning more about and connecting with Tkaronto/Toronto’s water? If the answer is yes, join the Swim Drink Fish Toronto Community Based Water Monitoring Team this October! We’ll teach you how to take water samples that can help us all answer questions like ”where can I swim” and “is the water clean”. We’ll train you as a citizen scientist to properly collect water samples and environmental data that helps us understand the ins and outs of the health of Lake Ontario.

The workshop will take place at the following times rain or shine:

  • Sunday, October 17th - 9:30-11:00 in the Toronto inner harbour (Full)

  • Tuesday, October 19th - 8:00-9:00 at Ontario Place (Full)

When you have completed the registration we will send a follow up email with more information including where we will be meeting. Spots are limited so we ask that if after you register you are unable to make it, please let us know.

Children are welcome and encouraged to attend but they must be accompanied by an adult.

Please note: Accessing the waterfront sites in the inner harbour requires walking on docks and the Ontario Place site is a pebble beach.
