Gord Downie, Edward Burtynsky help raise $500,000 for Lake Ontario Waterkeeper at RBC-sponsored art auction
The 2014 Waterkeeper Gala presented by RBC set a new fundraising record for the annual event, bringing in $500,000 to support Lake Ontario Waterkeeper’s work on water issues. The evening featured a lineup of powerful performances by Peter Mansbridge, Edward Burtynsky, Sarah Harmer, Albert Schultz, Scott Thompson, Atom Egoyan, Tanis Rideout, Naomi Snieckus and Matt Baram, Kevin Drew, Jian Ghomeshi, Andrea Nann, Leslie Feist, Wab Kinew, Gord Downie and The Sadies. The show was curated by gala co-host and longtime Waterkeeper supporter Gord Downie.
