Mark Mattson checks in with Rachel Silverstein from Miami Waterkeeper. Rachel Silverstein is Executive Director and Waterkeeper at MWK. As a full-time Waterkeeper, she is part investigator, scientist, educator, and legal advocate, functioning as a public spokesperson for Biscayne Bay. They chat about citizen science, water quality testing, COVID-19, and more.

Mark Mattson checks in with Elise Mackie from Lake Ontario Waterkeeper. In her role as Water Stewardship Specialist, Elise leads the Toronto Community Monitoring Hub and trains citizen scientists to sample water quality across Toronto’s waterfront. Elise also advises communities on achieving Blue Flag certification, including the City of Toronto, as part of Blue Flag Canada (Swim Drink Fish’s newest initiative).

Jill Jedlicka is Executive Director and Waterkeeper for Buffalo Niagara Waterkeeper. Buffalo Niagara Waterkeeper is a Swim Guide Affiliate and its work covers the Niagara River/Lake Erie Watershed, which spans over 3,700 square kilometres across five counties.

Mark is Checking In with Swim Drink Fish Ambassador Tim Thompson about living with social distancing. Tim Thompson is a filmmaker best known for his thought-provoking music montages that opened Hockey Night In Canada and the Olympic Games on the CBC. The former professional hockey player and self-taught artist has also made an array of documentaries, music videos, and short films. Tim Thompson has made three pieces for Swim Drink Fish, bringing the sentiment of his work to help in the fight for clean water.
