Finance Manager

Position Type: 25-35 hours per week
Location: Downtown Toronto
Start Date: Immediately

Swim Drink Fish Canada is a growing charity dedicated to ensuring swimmable, drinkable, fishable water for all. We are looking for a new team member to manage all aspects of financial reporting. This role will report to the Vice President and work closely with the Treasurer. This is the perfect role for someone who wants to contribute to a swimmable, drinkable, fishable future and has experience in bookkeeping, financial management, or grants management in the nonprofit sector.

As the Finance Manager, you will:

  • Track donations and payments received from supporters, input them into our database, and process donation receipts

  • Coordinate bill payments and manage vendor relations

  • Maintain financial information files (hard copy and digital), ensuring confidentiality and security of the information

  • Coordinate the budget reports for foundations, sponsors, and program staff as needed

  • Help to develop the annual budget and new project budgets as needed

  • Prepare monthly reports for review by the Officers and work with Officers to ensure appropriate financial oversight

  • Assist in the preparation of financial reports for quarterly board meetings

  • Coordinate the annual audit process and CRA filings

  • Help out with other finance and grant-related tasks as needed

Required Qualifications

Suitable candidates will have received formal accounting and/or finance training and be familiar with Quickbooks. Salesforce knowledge is an asset. They will have at least two years experience in a similar position in the charitable sector, including experience preparing financial reports for grants. A desire to create a swimmable, drinkable, fishable future is essential.
