Press Release: Swim Drink Fish and Canaqua Sports

Swim Drink Fish Canada and Canaqua Sports are thrilled to announce their strategic partnership to promote swimmable, drinkable, and fishable water for everyone. The partnership will leverage the expertise and passion of both organizations to engage more open-water swimmers, users, and communities with water quality monitoring and advocacy.

Swim Drink Fish Canada is a national charity that works at the confluence of water, people, and storytelling, using community science, technology, and communications to connect people to water. Through a network of Community Water Monitoring Hubs, Swim Drink Fish Canada has inspired, and continues to inspire, people to know and safeguard their local waters.

Canaqua Sports is a multifaceted company that runs Open Water Swim and SwimRun events, training programs and sells to clubs and associations across Canada within the swimming world. Their goal is to offer top quality events and training programs to all who are interested while selling top qualify products to anyone who needs them.

The partnership will involve co-hosting events, sharing resources and best practices, and raising awareness about the importance of clean water for recreation and health. Both Swim Drink Fish and Canaqua Sports are excited to welcome the 2024 event series into its mix.

“We are very excited to partner with Canaqua Sports, a leader in the open water swimming community. Together, we can reach more people and inspire them to become stewards of their watersheds. We believe that everyone deserves access to clean water and that swimming is a powerful way to connect with nature and foster a sense of responsibility,” said Mark Mattson, President of Swim Drink Fish.

“We are honoured to work with Swim Drink Fish Canada, a respected organization that has been making a difference in water quality and conservation for over 20 years. We share their vision of a healthy watershed where people can swim, drink, and fish. We look forward to collaborating with them on events and programs that will educate and empower our participants and communities to protect their waterways,” said Ian Feldman, Founder of Canaqua Sports.
