For three years, musicians who care about clean water donated tracks to the Swim Drink Fish Music Club, and members received new monthly downloads. Swim Drink Fish Music was an enormous success, raising awareness and thousands of dollars for Lake Ontario Waterkeeper and our partner Waterkeeper organizations:
- Biscayne Bay Waterkeeper
- Fraser Riverkeeper
- North Saskatchewan Riverkeeper
- Ottawa Riverkeeper
- Tennessee Riverkeeper
The Swim Drink Fish Music Project is now being rolled into an exciting new initiative: the National Water Centre. With its mandate to promote an appreciation for the natural environment and arts, the Water Centre will once again unite Waterkeepers with musicians. Over the course of the coming years, you can expect to hear about recordings, videos, and live performances that showcase some of the best musical talents in the name of clean water.
Thank you to everyone who supported Swim Drink Fish Music in the past, especially those who voted us one of Canada's Top 10 Music websites. And especially to the musicians who contributed to our cause: Belinda Bruce, Bill Frisell, Black Diamond Bay, Brent Randall, Broken Social Scene, Bruce Cockburn, Carmen Townsend, Chris Brown & Kate Fenner, Colleen and Paul, Contrived, Dave Bidini, Emma Lee, Gord Downie, Great Lake Swimmers, Holy F*ck, Jeff Pinto, Julian Ray, Justin Bird, Kate Fenner, Lady Hayes, Lameck Williams vs. Harbour Sharks, Mads Mouritz, Mike Papantonio, NQ Arbuckle, Ohbijou, Paper Moon, Pete Seeger, Robert F.
